Use Requisitions to Support the Hiring Process
Accessible from the side navigation menu, the Requisitions module functions as the "one-stop" resource for tracking job postings, screening applicants, and selecting new hires.In the left-hand column, the RequisitionsRequisition list identifies each Requisition by key identifiers, while the Requisition Detail for a selected Requisition (as indicated by gray highlight and boldface on the list) will house all key information and tasks for each job posting.
Understanding Requisition Components
How Requisitions are Numbered
balanceTRAK is configured to automatically number Requisitions, based on your organization's unique numbering system, which may be comprised of digits to signify year, month, department, job code, and the like.Your Implementation may allow numbers to be added by the Requisition creator. If so, a required field for Requisition Number will display in the Add Requisition menu (which is described at xxxxxx). The Number cannot be changed after the Requisition is created.

Requisition (Filter) Categories
Requisition categories, as described in this section, provide critical information by supporting views on the Requisitions screen as each Requisition advances. These categories:- Serve as drop-down Filters to narrow the Requisition list
- Display on the Requisition list as a key column, with sorting capability to organize entries in ascending or descending order by category
- Appear in the Requisition detail header, along with a secondary tagline, to help keep you abreast of specific Requisition status, as described in the bullets below.
Each Requisition will be identified and moved forward in accordance with following three phases:
- Pending — A Requisition has been added to the system, but has not yet reached the Job Posting Date. If applicable, the Requisition has not completed the Approval Process, and the following reason is noted: Awaiting Approval.
- Open — A Requisition has reached the Job Posting Date. During the Open phase, the Requisition can be:
- Posted Internally / Posted Externally
- "Activated" as — Accepting New Job Seekers
If applicable, the Requisition has undergone a successful Approval Process. (This category will be initially associated with: No Job Seekers. Once Job Seekers apply, the Open category will be associated with the highest Job Seeker Stage, as currently reached by any applicant.)
- Closed — The Requisition was closed because a new hire was made or for administrative reasons. (A reason will be associated with this category; e.g. Position not Filled.)

Requisition Fields
A Requisition is composed of Fields that represent the Job Posting's key data points. Fields will be visible as a new Requisition is created, and then later, they are stored on the Requisition's Fields tab. Fields can be associated by Group.Requisition Summary Details

- Required versus Optional Fields — Required Fields will be marked with an asterisk, both while a Requisition is being created and later, after it is added to the system and available for editing.
Examples: Typical required fields include: Type of Position. [Business unit] Code, Job Code, Location, and Posting Start Date. Examples of Fields that may be optional include Salary Range and Posting End Date.
After a Job Seeker applies, Fields may be locked to prevent editing.
