Control User Access by Location

Integrally linked with Profile Management and user credentials, Location Codes control access to BALANCEbTRAK's modules, data, and functions. While the first two settings involve user role and identity, Location Code serves to restrict access to information, based on business unit. For organizations with multiple Job Posting pages (reflecting various units), Location Code also ties a location (and its Requisitions) to the proper Job Posting page.

In the system, your organization's LocationsLocation Codes can be categorized in hierarchal order by up to four distinct levels (e.g., Location, Division, Subsidiary). Because of their importance to making sure that users only see information that is relevant to them, Location Codes are also referred to as: User Access Codes.

Make Changes to Location Access

Two software functions are involved the administration of user access by location:

  • Reference Tables — A Data table, containing all Location Codes, that is critical to system administration and operation
  • AND

  • User Management — The menu of settings, controlling how users are assigned to one or more Location Codes

Please refer to the above linked articles for more information on working with Location Codes and user settings.
