BalanceAAP > Data > Delete Unused Reference Codes

Return to: *Reference Tables

The following functions will be available as appropriate to Reference table content.

Delete Unused

This function will delete records from your reference tables that are not used in any of your data tables. Eliminating these records will make it easier for you to find the records you are looking for when browsing the reference tables, shorten the load times and calculation times, and overall improve the performance of the system.

The drawback to deleting unused records is that they will not be available to import from this plan into future plans.

Click Delete Unused, and the process will occur automatically. This function is available for most of your reference tables.

Copy Census Codes

This function will read the census codes assigned to your job codes in another plan, and copy those assignments to the job codes in the current plan. Use this function if your census codes were assigned properly in a previous plan, and you want your current plan to match.

Click Copy Census Codes, and select the plan to copy from in the Company, Establishment, and Plan drop-down lists. You can choose to Overwrite, which will update the census code for every job code, or Append, which will only update the census code for job codes where the census code is not yet assigned. When your selection has been made, click Copy.

Note: Using the Append option is only useful if the function is performed before Auto Census Coding (described below) is performed.

Auto Census Coding

Before you can move on to Availability and other sections of your plan, each job code must be assigned a census code. If you leave the Data section and all your job codes have not been assigned a census code, BALANCEaap will use its Auto Census Coding function to assign census codes for those job codes. Assignments are based on the job title and the EEO category of the job. These auto-assigned codes can be changed later in the job code table or the Availability section, if necessary.
