About Adding Sources to a Requisition

At this point in the Requisition-building process, Sources — or job boards — are selected and associated with the new Requisition. Through these outlets, Job Seekers will find out about the job opening and initiate the APPLICATION process.

Several major job boards are Integrated with balanceTRAK, both free and fee-based Websites. The software will display a specific menu of job board options that are available for your organization, resulting in seamless posting to those sites.

For job boards that are not integrated with balanceTRAK, or Manual Sources, the system offers tools for pushing your Job Posting to those outlets.

Cross-reference: Tools for posting the job Requisition to social media care available on the Requisition detail > Sources tab after the Requisition is added to the system.

After selecting the Sources sidebar from the Add New Requisition screen, the default sites will be organized into two tables:

  • Manual
  • Integrated

Click Add New Manual Sources and/or Add New Integrated Sources to expand the appropriate menu(s).

Assign (and Edit) Cost (Where available) — Click the Assign link, and enter one. If

When finished, select [Save].

About Auto-Post

If Auto-Post is enabled for one or more Sources, this is indicated by a [Check mark] under the corresponding column. A Requisition will automatically be posted to the Web, based on the Requisition Status that designates it as open. To turn off Auto-Post for a Requisition, click the [Check mark].

“Manual” posting to the URL may be required for some Sources. If so, an appropriate actions menu will appear in the Review Requisition detail. Follow the prompts as indicated to post the Requisition on line.

Note: Available Sources for selection (and related functions) are determined during Implementation and managed at the Administrative level, based on the job board's functionality and the integration.

Post the Job Opening to Job Boards

Below the Approval Process menu in the Review Requisition detail, you will see a specific menu for each job board your organization has contracted with. Menu options will vary for each job board.

Example: If you are posting a position to CareerBuilder, you will be asked to check off applicable job type categories for the position, prior to clicking the [Post Job] button.

Checklist: Actions Required to Post a Job On-line

The following actions must be in place for a job listing to appear on the branded Career page:

  1. A Form must be associated with the Requisition and set to show on the Career page (PRESCREENER or APPLICATION).
  2. The Job Description must have content.
  3. The Requisition Category must be: Open.
  4. The Requisition must be "turned on" as: Accepting New Job Seekers and Posted Externally.
  5. The Posting Start Date must be reached.

For a job listing to appear on a third-party job board:

  • A separate agreement or contract with the third-party may be required.
  • Entries for City and State are required for external job boards.


When Sources are complete, continue to Keywords, by clicking the [Next Step] button.
